Ever seen the ingredients in store bought horseradish sauce? Not good! This sugar free (and Keto Approved) Creamy Horseradish Sauce is just right. No Sugar, all the flavor, and a little kick!
How to Make Horseradish Sauce
The first thing you’ll need to do is prepare the horseradish root with a vegetable peeler. You’ll want to remove any nasties. Cut into pieces that are small enough in diameter to fit into the opening of a food processor.
Grate the Root
Fit your food processor with the grater disc. Grate the entire root. If you don’t have a food processor, you can grate by hand using a box grater.
Add Ingredients
Remove the grater disc and fit with the blade (or use a blender). Add all remaining ingredients and process until combined but not pureed and smooth.
- 5″ piece Fresh Horseradish Root
- 3 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/8 tsp Salt
Preparing the Creamy Horseradish Sauce
Combine all ingredients in a food processor (or a blender) and pulse until combined, but not enough to completely puree the mixture. You still want to leave some texture.
- 1 cup Prepared Horseradish (recipe above)
- 1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp Sour Cream
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Honey
Store in the fridge, tightly covered, for up to a month.
Note on the honey for Keto & Diabetics: Yes, honey alone will raise blood sugar – however, the honey is one ingredient in the creamy horseradish sauce – and the sauce should not be consumed like a meal, it’s there to enhance your meal. This means the amount of honey consumed in this recipe and with your meal will not impact blood sugar.
