In the past, we would often enjoy our favorite egg salad recipe by itself. Just grab a fork and dig in. No bread, no crackers, nothing. Just the egg salad. That was because there wasn’t really any bread or crackers that I just loved to eat.
Use the Explorado Artisan Bread
Recently, we started toasting our Artisan Bread with some butter and Savory Salt, then adding a pile of egg salad on top. Yeah, new favorite lunch over here. It’s such a simple thing, but worth sharing with everyone because it’s so tasty.
Add Pickles to your Egg Salad
I’m a firm believer that all egg salad should include chopped pickles. I used to use the sweet relish in my egg salad back in the day, but since cutting out refined sugars and junk ingredients, I’ve come to really love chopped dill pickles in there instead. And of course, a little sprinkle of paprika is always welcome on egg salad just because it looks so pretty!
Our egg salad recipe is simple and easy, perfectly creamy, and not overly mustard-y. Give this artisan bread and egg salad combo a try and let us know what you think.
Low-Carb Egg Salad Toast
Ingredients
- 1/2 batch Easy Egg Salad
- 4 (1/2") slices Artisan Keto Bread
- 2 Tbsp Softened Butter, divided
- Savory Salt Seasoning Blend, to taste
Instructions
- Spread 1/2 Tbsp of butter on each slice of toast. Sprinkle a bit of Savory Salt on each slice. Toast in the toaster oven (or under the Broiler set to LOW) until crispy around the egdes. Time will vary depending on your toaster or oven and your desired doneness.
- Top each piece of toast (while they're still warm) with a heaping spoonfull of egg salad and spread to the edges. Top with smoked paprika, if desired (I like the color it adds). Serve immediately.
